Choosing the Right iLiv Fabric

Selecting the right fabric is an important part of any interior design project. Whether you are planning new curtains, updating an upholstered chair or coordinating fabrics throughout a room, there are several factors worth considering.

Curtain and Drapery Fabrics

The choice of curtain fabric can have a considerable effect on the appearance of a room.

Consider the weight of the fabric, its drape, the pattern repeat and how the design will look when the curtains are made.
Large-scale patterns can create a striking focal point, while smaller designs and subtle textures can work beautifully in a more understated interior.

Upholstery Fabrics

When choosing upholstery fabric, durability and suitability for the intended use are particularly important.

Check the fabric specifications, including composition, width and Martindale rub count where applicable.
For commercial interiors, such as hotels and hospitality projects, additional performance and fire-retardant requirements may need to be considered.

Coordinating Fabrics

Many iLiv collections contain complementary designs that can be used together.

A patterned curtain fabric might be combined with a coordinating plain fabric for upholstery and a smaller decorative design for cushions.

This can create a more cohesive interior scheme while allowing different textures and patterns to work together.
